Founded in 1936, Bourdaud has established deep roots in the Châteaubriant region, the most wooded area of Loire-Atlantique.
Its strategic geographical position, at the intersection of the Nantes / Rennes and Laval/St Nazaire roads, gives it easy access to the cities of Nantes, St Nazaire, Rennes and Angers.

In addition, Western France's excellent motorway network makes a large number of destinations accessible in both France and Europe.

The timber sawn by the company comes from nearby forests, in the Pays de la Loire, Brittany, Normandy and Central France. Most of this timber is from PEFC certified forests, both state-owned and private.

Bourdaud regularly carries out major investment programmes, purchasing the new production equipment which makes it a considerable industrial processor :

• 30 000 m³ of sawn timber processed annually
• 2 sawlines
• 9000 m² of covered facilities, with 3200 m² heated
• 6 drying units with one devoted to NIMP15 treatment
